Questions?

  • Where is the Mass livestream?

It is located on the mass times page which can be found in the bottom right corner of your screen. Or you can just click this link

  • Will there be more changes?

Yes, but not as dramatic as the steps already taken. Our hope is to continue updating and building out our pages from here, so if you have thoughts or ideas, please let us know!

  • Why the changes?

When the opportunity to refresh the website came up, we tried to add a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. We recognize that it may be more work to find things at first and if you need help please don't hesitate to call or email Sam Ritze.

  • What are the commissions and what do they mean?

These are something we are excited to continue growing and developing. They are Worship, Formation and Sacraments, Corporal Works of Mercy (formerly Outreach and Justice), and Stewardship (formerly Welcome and Hospitality). We hope these concepts help parishioners to discern how God is calling them to be a part of the Church.

Through our Worship Commission, we continue to work to provide a transformative experience on Sundays, not only though our priests and staff but also all our volunteers who play a large part in our Masses. We desire to give the Lord the praise He is due, and this takes a wide range of skills from singing and reading at mass to serving, decorating, and cleaning. Fr. Mike Schmitz often talks about a common quote about mass “I go to mass, but I just don’t get anything out of it”. His response to that is the heart of religion is worship, and the heart of worship is sacrifice. He emphasizes that Mass is not about what you can receive or gain, but about what you can give to God. If that speaks to you, maybe there is a place to dive in one of our Worship ministries?

Our Formation and Sacraments commission is dedicated to teaching and evangelizing in our community. The sacraments, to quote the Catechism of the Catholic Church, touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of faith.  None of us know God fully, and through formation we seek to be transformed by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2). None of us are perfect, and being on the Formation and Sacraments commission doesn’t mean you have it all figured out. It just takes an awareness of people (us) and today’s culture, and our need for what the sacraments and formation have to offer.

We have many ministries that act as Christ to those in need and we want to support and share about them in our Corporal Works of Mercy Commission. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me. The world has many problems, and it can be stressful and overwhelming to see sometimes. We cannot solve all of them, but we can work to help those right here in our community. What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? (James 2:14)

Our fourth commission is Stewardship. A core principle of stewardship is viewing everything I have as a gift from God and responding in generosity. We want this to be a pillar of our Parish, to view our churches as gifts from God and to steward them well. In our churches, we hope our Parishioners feel ownership, that they belong here and are not just attending. The hope being that new member and visitors encounter a welcoming and hospitable community that is looking to share the church they have received from God with others.

We hope these Commissions provide avenues and structure for our congregation to live out the personal call Jesus has for us as unique individuals.
